Oh Chad and Sarah.
Once a year, it seems that the universe feels I need a gentle reminder of how fortunate I am to have air conditioning. Chad and Sarah's wedding was that day. Holy hotness. Fortunately, photographers are used to being the only rough-looking, sweaty, basically dressed people in a sea of gorgeous wedding guests - but I felt pretty bad for the bridal party in their heavy suits and dresses. Thanks again to all of you for being such troopers during pictures! Despite the fact that it was mega hot and a storm rolled in right as we were starting the first look, we couldn't have been blessed with a more perfectly awesome bride and groom to maneuver through all the changes this day presented! The wedding was moved inside of Riverview Banquets - and everything turned out fabulous.
We photographed Chad and Sarah's engagement last fall in downtown Rockford and we had a great time with them and their dog Fran. Ever since then, we have been looking forward to their wedding because they are just so natural in front of the camera. And their smiles are legit. You know, like, actual happy smiles? They have those. Not everyone does, by the way. For example, I am one of those people who doesn't. I also have resting frown face and it's a serious issue. I don't want to discuss this. I wish you hadn't of brought it up.
This wedding was full of creative details incorporating Sarah's love of literature and Chad's love of soccer. The beautiful florals were from Laura's Flowers and the cake was from Cake Creations.
As soon as the storm passed, we grabbed umbrellas, hiked down to our spot, dodged some puddles, found some good light, and had this amazing first look! It was totally worth it.
One more thing...
When Sarah was giving her speech, she said she only would have changed two things: that the weather was cooler and that her dog could have been there. But I don't know what she's talking about because she's right there!!
I really shouldn't be allowed to have Photoshop.
