Well, I have to say this wedding was the first time I've ever experienced someone cutting a foot of the bride's dress with a pocket knife so she could dance better. In my opinion, it was the absolute right decision - it's not like you're ever wearing it again. And a girl gotta dance.

It's been a literal lifetime since we first met up with Josh and Marissa. Perhaps that was an incorrect usage of "literal," but I have a penchant for drama. Then last fall, we got to wander around Beloit and ride some bikes (them, not us) for their engagement session. This was a beautiful vow renewal between two of my friends, Chad and Melissa, in an orange grove in Escondido, California. You will notice as you scroll through, that they have three of the cutest children imaginable. And I know what you're thinking - that would make for some awesome family photos. And you're right. Unfortunately, the oldest came down with the flu in the middle of the ceremony, the middlest was quite preoccupied by donuts, and the littlest is still a baby so, ya know. All of that to say that we didn't get a family picture afterwards, but you can check out Chad and Melissa's couple's session here.

Ohhhhhhh San Diego. Ohhhhh these two. I could tell a really, really long saga right now but I'll try to keep it short. Round about 2005, I met Chad through mutual friends. Since then, we were sort of joined at the hip for many tumultuous years of our twenties. I'll spare you the pictures because I like to keep this blog classy. Actually, Chad was the first person I ever "took pictures of" - back when all I had was a bulky, 1970s polaroid camera. Some years later, he met the love of his life, Melissa, out in California and now that's where he lives with their three beautiful children. My husband and I miss them terribly!
