Well you can’t go wrong with Joshua Tree or anything in California for that matter. But this elopement styled shoot had all the ingredients: gorgeous details, desert wandering, and just the most beautiful, happy couple. Here are a FEW of our favorite highlights. I will probably be breaking this up into two separate blogs because there's just too much awesomeness. A huge thank you to everyone who made this such a stunning day.

When it's freezing outside, you do your engagement photos at the Garfield Observatory in Chicago, IL. I am OBSESSED with this place — especially the desert greenhouse. There are several different themed rooms you can wander around and it was a perfect place to thaw out and get some cute photos for David and Karen's save the dates! Can't wait for their wedding in the fall at D.C. Winery.

Where do I honestly start with this wedding? Once you see the photos you'll understand my struggle. This was our last event of the season and we got to shoot it at one of our favorite venues, DC Estate Winery in South Beloit, WI. We had the most beautiful fall weather, magical golden sunset light, a picture perfect bride and groom with gigantic + fun families, and the prettiest wedding dress in history. WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT. Oh, I know. Plates full of Italian pastries? Because we had that too.

We were so excited to shoot this beautiful fall wedding at The Brauer Barn in Winnebago, IL. Granted, it felt more like a mid-July wedding rather than late September, but for the purposes of this blog we're going to pretend it wasn't 1,439 degrees. By the way, if you're looking to have a barn wedding in the area - definitely look up The Brauer Barn! Not only is it a gorgeous space, but the owners are super awesome to work with and very accommodating.

Well, we are super excited for Kurt and Eli's wedding after this engagement session. They are so fun and just up for whatever. We started the day with a picnic, then ran down some hills in 90 degree weather, climbed through giant fields of flowers, got eaten alive by mosquitos, set up a faux campsite (with an actual tent they used to road trip around to national parks), and then they sang songs while Kurt played the ukulele. And then we all went and had ice cream. Sign. Me. Up.
Oh wait, they already did. Can't wait for next July!! :)
